Maria Peroni joined Spivak Lipton in 2025.  Maria primarily represents the firm’s benefit fund clients.  In her practice, Maria advises benefit funds that provide retirement and health and welfare benefits on plan design, administration, and compliance.  She regularly counsels benefit funds on ongoing changes in the laws governing employee benefits.

Prior to joining Spivak Lipton, Maria was an associate in the Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits practice group of an international law firm.  She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2022.

During law school, Maria was drawn to the area of employee benefits because retirement and health and welfare benefits are so critical to the wellbeing and financial security of working people and their families.  She enjoys contributing to Spivak Lipton’s work assisting its union clients to bargain for these benefits for their members and its benefit fund clients to administer benefits in accordance with the best interests of plan participants and beneficiaries.
