Spivak Lipton welcomed two new Associates to the firm this year.
Maria Peroni joined the firm in June 2025. Prior to joining Spivak Lipton, Maria was an associate in the Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits practice group of an international law firm.
Maria primarily represents the firm’s benefit fund clients and regularly counsels benefit funds on ongoing changes in the laws governing employee benefits on plan design, administration, and compliance.
Maria is excited to contribute to Spivak Lipton’s work assisting its union clients bargain for secure employee benefits and supporting the firm’s benefit fund clients to act in the best interests of plan participants and beneficiaries.
Peter Rawlings joined the firm in September 2025 after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk to a federal judge in the Eastern District of New York.
Peter primarily works with the firm’s union clients assisting with collective bargaining negotiations, handling grievances and arbitrations, providing legal support to union organizing campaigns, filing unfair labor practice charges, and counseling union leaders and staff on the administration and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements and union governance issues.
Peter was drawn to becoming a labor lawyer during his decade-long career as a journalist during which he actively participated in two organizing campaigns to unionize his workplaces.
